Improve Your Health, Improve Your Life

New Year’s resolutions are a fickle thing. You’re so excited about this great plan you have to improve some part of your life, from finances to your home to your health. However, the trouble lies in following through on your resolution.

There are many ways to live healthier in 2013, and they don't have to be difficult!

About 40 percent of American adults made resolutions last year, and over half of those resolution-makers wanted to enhance some aspect of their health. Studies done over the years concerning resolutions have shown that only about a quarter of people that make resolutions are still sticking with them six months later.

If your resolution this year involves improving your health, then we have some easy ways for you to keep to it

Lose weight- studies consistently show that lower weight and body fat percentages coincide with better overall health. This is especially important for those with a physical disability or limited mobility.

Eat better- the easiest route to better health, great nutrition starts with cutting out the processed foods and replacing them with fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, lean meat and lowfat dairy. Need healthy meal ideas? The internet is your best friend.

Lower your stress levels- stress from work or life in general can cause high blood pressure, trouble sleeping and exhaustion. Take some time for yourself every day to relax and reflect.

Exercise your mind- memorize lists, take a different route to a familiar place, solve the daily crossword or do something else to keep your mind active and sharp.
