Here are some helpful tips to keep your safe this spring.

No matter what strenuous activities you’ll be doing, schedule a short day the first time out. If you overdue it today, it takes 3 days to recover. Set a time limit and don’t push it.

Warm up stretches are a simple and essential step to a busy day.  Stretching is not just for runners, it’s a way to prepare the body to use the muscle groups that may be a bit underused. Take a look at these stretching techniques from Function Fitness Facts.

An easy warm up is walking. Walking is a great way to get your body woken up, warmed up and loosened up before your tasks. Try a short, brisk walk before you start your activities and after as a cool down.

Stay hydrated. Keep water with you or close by as you work. Dry muscles are sore muscles and that goes for your brain too. If you sweat a lot during your project, consider a sports drink to replenish what your body has lost and to help prevent sore muscles.

Take breaks. A few short breaks will let your body keep up with can-do spirit. Rome was not built in a day.
